ABOUT THE RESEARCH
“Mom, our house is an ecosystem”, said Antonio at the age of 10 when he realized the diversity who lived within our domestic space. The action that I started in 2015 and that gave rise to one research that I develop, has involved more than 3000 people and brings into our intimate space hundreds of narratives that compose our imaginary and who we are today. The fact that our house, over the years, has served as a workspace and home for many artists, researchers and activists, has made it become, similar to an ecosystem, a place where relationships happen, intersect and multiply, differences coexist and information proliferates. A place that produces alliances and articulations, stimulates creation and activates a certain production of life.
⌵
Today, in our house there are 8 bedrooms, 1 carpentry studio, 2 art studios, a rehearsal room and a music studio. Dozens of people circulate daily between those who live and those who create here. There has never been a charge for the use of the house and the choice not to allow monetary values to motivate relationships has defined what the place is today. The question that permeates this action/research is about what other practices and relationships are born from welcoming and trust.
After a few years, Casa Líquida has become an action/project that activates the production of knowledge and care for others, and which is now taking on other temporaland spatial developments. In 2023 we created an Institute (INSTITUTO CASA LÍQUIDA) to start developing projects that affect our surroundings and motivate us to reflect on collectivity and the city.
HOW THIS PLOT IS BUILT
Because we believe that the plot has a natural intelligence in the way it is built, artists and researchers come to us as a result of meetings and not through calls for proposals or public notices.
MISSION
As a project/action, Casa Líquida's mission is to promote creation, research and the production of knowledge based on coexistence and collective practices. To this end, we aim to protect and celebrate singularities, promote listening and caring for others and stimulate the exchange of knowledge and information.
